The habit of reading is not a habit that is acquired after learning to read. Books need to be a part of children’s lives as of babyhood. Books are among the most effective methods in the development of different experiences and skills. Time spent with books help children to develop cognitive, social and emotional skills. Moreover, books assist children in developing an understanding of establishing relations between events, establishing cause and effect relations as well as the learning of social and personal values. Children reinforce concepts such as good and bad, helpfulness and responsibility through story books. Children learn new things while also enjoying themselves in the library.
